16 days passed, release patch! EPIC store has patched version!
I know patch in works, but really it taking too long!
I dont like to wait months for cumulative big patches i prefer to see smaller but regular patches every week.

Private builds are constantly tested, but i dont like that we have to keep waiting so long with vanilla game with so many issues.

So i strongly suggest to release whatever is fixed now and then keep making next fixes and do it like once a week or two.

Also i want a public beta for all patches from now on! Please give us all officiall public beta branch on Steam to see regular fresh updated even if they are not very polished yet. its still better than sitting and waiting with current state of game with a lot of things messed up.

Update:

12 days since release!

According to this thread:
https://steamcommunity.com/app/2478970/discussions/0/4346607305578602302/

Epic store version has more up to date version and its even possible that Steam version was not even final version!

Now im totally enraged by fact that we still dont get most recent build and not even given access to public beta version!

I demand already existing update to be release on steam RIGHT NOW!

Update:

16 days since release

Instead of releasing EPIC build on Steam at least as public beta branc, geniuses from Aspyr downgraded EPIC version to Steam\GOG version *facepalm* and we still have 2 weeks to wait for official patch.

Gladly just 2 days ago before downgrade i got EPIC version and backed it up and compared it to Steam version to find difference in files and, and made unofficial patch that overrides 226 files.

Was ready to release it 2 days ago for legit Steam and GOG users, but was late because when i intended to make such patch one bad apple called Derick (banned 3 times on this forum for insulting and provoking people) falsely reported me and accused in encouraging piracy which i never did, and i was banned for week but actually proved to Steam support that i did not encourage piracy and explained them situation about my intention to make patch and they admited ban was wrong and lifted ban in 1 day.

Howeve because of that i lost 1 day and could not release patch earlier, but now it seems that even legit EPIC users need this patch. While i lost day due of now lifted wrong ban caused by false accusations, someone at TR forums released delta patch, so i am now a bit late with my version of patch.

However my EPIC patch has some benefits that xdelta patch does not: it includes whole 226 files (but its not entire game*** more about it later!), not the diff data, so it can be applied to any version of game even it was modded or if its now downgraded EPIC version, while xdelta patch could be only applied to Steam and GOG version of current build and cant help EPIC owners to upgrade back to what they had and can not patch files that was modded, which could cause potential conflics and bugs.

WARNING !!!

i do not encourage piracy, and my patch only intended to be used by legit owners and does not violate steam rules. Distribution of part of game files from other platform in form of unofficial patch is absolutely legal and not an act of piracy, as anyone who purchased game on any other platform granted legal rights to access and execute game files no matter the platform and granted rights to backup game files and store them anywhere and even to provide them ot other legitimate owners of product, our legal rights are tied to game as product, not to specific platform, so if you are legit owner of game on any platform you have rights to download and distribute this patch and it does not differ from any modification that also distributes part of game files.

You need to own full GOG or Steam or EPIC version to be able to run game, this patch does not include entire game and game will crash if you will try to run exe from patch without purchasing entire game anywhere, since it not whole game and cant be used without rest of files, so it also not legaly considered as piracy.

Only 226 files that are differnt to Steam\Gog are included in patch, so patch is expecting other thousands of game files to exist in game folder, otherwice it useless if you dont own entire game.

Also included game exe is not hacked and DRM is not bypassed and its provided as is without any alteration and with digital signature intact, actually game is DRM FREE and exe is universal for all platforms, only presence of Steam or Epic specific dll make it communicate with platform and its features like achievments and cloud saves, so i did not include EPIC dlls with this patch, and without them it works fine with Steam dll included in Steam build. So distribution and usage of this patch by legal owners of game is absolutely legal just like uploading and downloading of any mod is.

All files was obtained from purchased EPIC store public release build by Aspyr and not taken from private servers, so backing up publically released files up and restoring them even after Aspyr removed those files, is also absolutely legal as well as providing alternate download sources for those files afer Aspyr illegaly took them away and downgraded Epic version of game and violated our rights by doing so and by not providing any official download sources (like steam and epic beta branch) of previosly publicallly released patch.

Downloading and using these files if you did not purchase game on any of platform is illegal, so you are only allowed to download and use this patch if you are legitimate owner of game on any of platforms!

*Have to clarifty this to avoid any misunderstanding and false accusations again*

Download link to patch will be provided as soon as ill upload it.

Well, to be fair, games back then were much more risky to get wrong.
If you released a game and it had game breaking bugs, you would have to re-release it again, which I assume would be costly to companies.
Nowadays for better or worse, you have the option to release a product, and if something is broken, you can fix it. Too bad companies use this to release broken games and do the "we'll fix it later". Not saying it is the case with this game in particular, it has some issues, but it's far from the worst releases out there.
They had patch disks back then on pc games, except on consoles.
Only case I know first-hand was the missing yellow key in Map 31 of The Plutonia Experiment in Final Doom. I know they released a patch online, but a lot of people didn't have internet access at that point still. They ended up fixing it in later re-releases like Anthology.

there are some ways to softlock yourself in certain levels, but those are issues as old as the games themselves, not because of the remaster.

Nobody crunching them, mr genius, im asking to make test build THEY ALREADY HAVE AND ADDING LIKE EVERY DAY TO STEAM (according to SteamDB) - a public beta, plus im asking to split amount of fixes and release smaller amount of fixes per week-two than making big amount of fixes for month or more. Its basically same amount of work and time as they do now, but with results given to us more often in smaller chunks, so we should not sit and wait forever for at least some vital fixes!

Quit acting like the problems and missing features are that big a deal. So much drama queen.

And even those aren't game breakers as such, more 'damn it I have to restart level' moments really. I don't get all this wah wah it's not perfect enough nonsense.

Mechanically the game works fine because it is based on the original game. Any problems are problems with the original game.

Complaints based on the original games issues by new players that don’t understand that’s how the games used to function and hardbaked into the code…

Some of these old issues have been fixed, but not all to maintain authentic feel. Like the wall glitch needed to get the unreachable item….

Old players are more concerned about presentation and quality control of the new content they don’t like graphical glitches… there is enough of that on AAA games like
Cyberpunk… they expect more out of labors of love…

while i agree with most issues not being critical enough to require a day-0-hotfix, nobody should have to reinstall windows just to get audio.

Don't get me wrong, I think problems should be fixed. I just don't think a fix for a rare problem that a few people are experiencing taking 10+ days to implement is unreasonable and worth getting bent out of shape about.

A friend of mine has no audio for some inexplicable reason. We just can't work out why.

They've done such a good job with these remasters that it's a real shame they are not 100%. No patch yet is letting themselves down a bit. There are lots of wonky textures if you look closely, - things that are rotated 90° or 180° or inside out or in extreme cases not where they should be. Sometimes the animals don't react as they should. In the first wolf encounter below the bridges for instance, the wolves can be very slow to react.

Yeah, so far this collection has been an early access type of game with lots of unfinished features.(Modern controls that could be much better, modern camera that is unfinished, keys that turn invisible in new graphics, areas that look unfinished in new graphic mode, sound quality not being good in TR 3, TR 3's secret level not being available, black backgrounds for all the inventory screens.)

But some people here love to defend these unfinished games to death. Guess having classic Lara lowers their standards.

Having no sound is a big issue… and one the people return their games over.

Enough people return their games and it could hurt further patch development.

If it’s meant to be “early access” it should have that warning. Just like PalWorld….

Not advertised as a complete AAA rerelease.

I hear in TR2 later half has lots of missing graphics in later half the game?

It works with classic tank controls.
It doesn't work with modern controls.

And the lighting in some areas is definitely too dark, to the point that it obscures important items, lever and switches.

Giving you the option to switch to the checkpoint system instead of manual saves would have been nice, too. Supposedly that's in the game, but only for NG+, which only unlocks after you finished the game.....why ?

There are definitely some no-brainers, easy fixes and low hanging fruits they could have implemented before releasing it, like:

- giving you access to flares in TR 1.
- increasing the burning duration or amount of flares.
- giving you access to the checkpoint system right from the start.
- increase the wall climbing speed of climbable surfaces, like ladders in TR 2.

- Making sure that the camera works while using modern controls.
- Letting you backstep, side and backflip in moderns controls, without drawing weapons, via pressing a button combination.

- making sure that every texture, which simulates a 3D surface has bump or displacement mapping on it....... and is properly scaled.

Them patching some of those aspects is nice.
The issue with post release patches is always, that they usually come after you have already played through game.

Wow, well if you want it then they have to do it. Stop being immature and act whatever age you are. You must be a very spoilt brat to get everything you want. An update will not be released so early after the game release. If the game is not working perfectly on your PC then perhaps you should look at your specs and upgrade. It's working perfectly on mine.

^ this right here. hardly anyone refunds the game because of some minor cosmetical issues or certain achievements not triggering. the first patch should primarily focus on compatibility issues and other potential deal-breakers.
