Photo Mode is borderline cheating
Gives you a little drone to fly around and figure out where everything is ahead of time lmao

And I love every single thing about it lol. Besides... The challenge is still there as you'll need to make the jumps, defeat the enemies and solve the puzzles yourself.

It's also great to see how the levels were built and how the architecture is from different perspectives. I honestly wish more 3D games could come with a similar function.

I had the same thought when I found myself using it to scout around the level.

I'm pretty sure some of those secrets were purposely hidden to require guides and public discourse à la Dark Souls though so I don't think it's *that* excessive to get an extra tool.

if it wasn't intended to be used like that limiting it's range would have been super easy.

Seems you guys haven't played NG+ since it's not going to help that much with getting your ass kicked.

Yeah, but it is optional, as you can use literally cheats ingame :)
If they would limit it, you couldn't do cool Pictures from far away.
And lets be honest, those Games are nearly 30 Years old, eben back then you have gotten plenty of Magazines with Solutions.

As i played now through two of the Addons, it was mostly helpful in Situations i would normally trial and error to figure out where to jump exactly.
So instead of reloading 20 Times, i used the Camera after testing around for a while.

You still need to solve the puzzles. Has been pretty helpful too see what you're up against.
Besides, in tr2, it doesn’t show you the enemies. Full spectrum of the area ahead, but no enemies.

They need to fix this huge mistake, either by limited the range or unlock the mode after finishing the game, this mode is a cheat and no game developer puts this kind of modes in their game. It completely ruins the game.
Who is the idiot who came up with the idea of making this mode?

It's an optional feature in a single player game that already came packed with cheat codes to begin with. How that could "completely ruin it"?

People these days ...
They don't need to fix anything. If you consider that cheating, how about this crazy idea: Don't use it. There, solved that issue for you without crippling a nice addition to the game.

The "idiots" in question did this by design as stated on their news post:

Thanks to the free camera, photo mode can serve for more than just capturing stylish snaps. Utilize photo mode to scout locations, gain a better sense of traversal, prepare for enemy encounters, or sort out a tricky puzzle.

To be fair, those games are not very well designed and the game is full of unavoidable traps if you are not familiar with the game already. It's littered with troll instant deaths or throwing the player on very unfair situations...

So...

One could simply not use Photo Mode to prevent the, quote-unquote, "cheating" or "ruining of the game."

TBH if people wana cheat, they are not harming anybody in their defence.
