SimCity 4 Deluxe

SimCity 4 Deluxe

Sim City 4 won't start with Steam
Hey guys!

I recently downloaded the SC4 deluxe version from the Steamshop. Installed correctly.

But now when I try to start it, it refuses to do so.
Nothing happens at all (well - sometimes the Steam News Window appears, yay)

Anyone else have this problem?

Any solutions?

Checked cache integrity? Checked steam actually downloaded the game?

Im having the same problem, I have checked the integrity. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times and then checked the integrity again. I keep getting this same problem though.

-intro:off -CPUCount:1 -CPUPriority:high

Maybe this will help. Put it into the launch options after right clicking SImCity 4.

Kenny - could you be more specific? Which SimCity 4 am I supposed to right click on? or where do I go to do that?

SC4 doesn't work with multi processor pcs, you will need to put the text kenny wrote into Launch Options - In Library right click on Sim City and select Properties. In the General tab click on Set Launch Options and paste EXACTLY this -

-intro:off -CustomResolution:enabled -r1360x768x32 -CPUCount:1 -CPUPriority:high

Change the r1360x768 to whatever resolution you require (leave 32bit depth as it is), if that don't work I haven't got a scooby doo.

I have the same problem. I know this worked before but now it doesn't. I haven't played this for some time. None of the above Launch options work.

SC4 may have some compatibility issues with Windows 8. Dont use the windows driver updater go to the native sites to install drivers. Dont use a resolution above 1920x1080 or below 800x600.

Try adding -w to the launch options to change to window mode.

Also try changing the compatibility mode, to do this find the simcity4.exe (usually c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\simcity 4 deluxe\apps\simcity 4.exe) or from steam go into Properties/Local Files and click on Browse Local Files and then just open up the apps folder.
Right click on the SimCity4.exe and open Properties. Select the Compatability tab, check the "Run this program in compatability mode for:" and then select windows 98/me (or whichever windows version it worked on before), then apply.

None of you state what your specs are or what actually happens but I hope one of these helps.

i tried the launch option thing but it didnt help, im running on win7 64bit with i7 2600k

-intro:off -w -CustomResolution:enabled -r1920x1080x32 -CPUCount:1 -CPUPriority:high

This finally got mine running. If you have multiscreen you must have the -w in the advanced startup

To enable right click on the title in your steam menu select properties. There you will see advanced startup options. Input the string above and it should work. Substitute what resolution you have but no higher than the one above.

Same problem. I tried everything you talked about, verified the files, re-installed the game, nothing change, it just won't launch. Kinda weird.

Configuration is :
Windows 8 64 bits (and don't tell me it's garbage, it won't change the problem)
Intel Corei7 - 3537u, 2.0 gHz
4Go RAM
if sc4 doesent work then u need to windows task manager and see if u have already got it running
