High demand for high-tech industry, what to do?
Hey,

My city's current capacity is around 55k. Everyone has the highest graduation possible. That's paired with high security and health. Well, however, they want me to add more industry zones - there is no more space left for this. So I just changed from average-industry to strong crowded industry. But the demand is still only for high-tech and the rest of industry demand is even negative. Do I have to remove the pollution-like Industry? And if so, how? Of course I would be glad if the pollution decreases due more high-tech industry. Anyway, same goes for the blue zones. Already all full crowded, demand still too high, no space left. Increase the taxes maybe?

afaik, increase the Land worth of your new industry zones by building parks near it

Hm... good idea, that could really work. So the "too good for us" people will build better industry versions :)

Hehe, tested it. You helped me out much! Now my income increases, too.

oni gave you the right recepie. I-HT requires similar desirebility factors with R§§§.

Creatin a new city for H-Tech Industry is very helpful, but be aware with pollution because this kind of industry doesn't like it. Rise the taxes in e new city for Dirty and Manufacturing to 20%, that way you mae sure only what you want will develop and giv them a high speed transport system so Sims don't complain for commute distance and time.

Ah, well... this was my first city. So I think, that I can't do "only one focused" at all.

They say is possible, but difficult. Is more easy to build new cities and connect them. You can specialize them by building only residential, commercial or industry zones.

Problem with that is that (NAM) pathfider considers all inner tile traffic as short distance traffic - despite the size of a tile -, but traffic to other tiles are considered long.

It is important to understand that connected tile share common demand. This is why it is sometimes smart to create high end CBD in the middle of your city. Office buildings favor each others company and traffic noice around them, so CO demand from other tiles can be focused to central tile simply by zoning high dencity C sparsly and only around the CBD.

What does this have to do with I-HT? As stated above, I-HT shares same desirebility factors with R§§§. Latter want's to get CO§§§ fastets possible way. This is why your main I-HT, R§§§ and CO§§§ should be built to same city tile.

Of course you don't need to direct all of them in to same tile all the time. You can have low dencity R§§§ around suburan and rural areas. Not all CO creates skyscrapers and I-HT blends well to lower dencity areas. Fact is that these three feed each others and share many desirebility factors.

Other R, C and I types have similar behavior models, but while all of your tiles have and need some levels of R§ - and possibly not at all R§§§ -, grouping is not as distinctive.

Edit:
I forgot to tell you that I-HT is a work related bug, but it can be fixed. I collected some fixes and information to a post some time ago: http://steamcommunity.com/app/24780/discussions/0/864975632868302516/
