Crashes when Loading a City

Hi guys,

When the game is loading a city in a region it always stuck then crashes in 20 second-ish.

Anyone has ideas to fix this issue?

Edit: Installed SC4 launcher, tweaked some stuff: screen resolutions from lows to highs, cores from 1-12 priority low - high, uninstall and reinstalling, still not resolved

Use launcher then it prob will work. I have alot of plugins and thought that was the problem i had when it always crashed but after i used launch instead it works!

Pilotuedan, did you ever find a fix to the city crashing problem?

Solved:

By uninstalling via steam, I still have some files that remains in your local drive in the SC4 folder. You have to delete it manually then reinstall the game.

By itself this fixes nothing. Just randomly changing settings isn't a great way to fix things either, perhaps try understanding what those settings do, there is plenty of info out there with a little searching on Google.

But if this fixed things, then your install must logically either have been faulty or otherwise, the re-install reset all the settings and that made things work.

Did you install the NAM? Do you have the 4GB Patch correctly applied to your game? See the NAM readme for details.

Otherwise, it's rare you can get to the region view, but can't open a city, since the game needs to initialise the graphics to get that far, problems in this respect tend to result in CTD after the Splash Screen. Either way, we can help you better if you start a thread of your own to troubleshoot your issue.
