SimCity 4 Deluxe

File Transfer
I originally had this game on disc in 2004 with the Rush Hour expansion pack and recently I began to wipe and clean out my old computer and found all the original save files and regions from sim city 4 on the computer. So I decided to copy all the files and put them on a flash drive so that I can move the cities over to my new computer and the steam version of the game. However whenever I copy and paste the old files into the steam folder for sim city 4 in the region area it doesn't show up in the game at all even though the files all look the same and should be compatible as it should be the same unmodded version of the game. Any ideas on why this might be or what I am doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

Just tested this and it worked for me. The region could be accessed when in the \Documents Region folder instead of in the \Program Files one.

Now I'm curious as to why. That's something I'll have to look up...

Thank you! It worked perfectly, it's amazing to see the cities I worked on almost 20 years ago again!
