Using SC4 DatPacker and SC4 Mapper under STEAM/Linux
Hi there, after sucessfully installing SC4 Deluxe with the SC4Fix and the NAM, the last thing that I need to resolve (prior to installing the CAM) ist Wouanagins DatPacker. I already managed to install it using PlayOnLinux, but that doesn't help, as the DatPacker is looking for the Games Plugin directory in its virtual drive, which is not there for obvious reasons.

So has anyone sucessfully installed the DatPacker to use with SC4 running on Linux (via Proton)?

you need to install game mods into same proton prefix as your game. you can't use playonlinux or other prefixes for that. see this guide for basic Proton usage, there have to be something about winetricks, proton prefix paths and how to install things manually

Thanks, I already found another suitable (at least for me) way. I will keep my plugins in the SC4DatPacker virtual drive and copy only the compressed ones to the STEAM game directory. Seems to be a reasonable effort considered that i don't add plugins on a daily basis. But however thanks for your link.
