Fully updated SC4 Deluxe vesion number is: 1.1.640.
Version number for Steam/Origin version is: 1.1.641.
FYI, Origin seems to have gone back to screwing retail customers by selling their "special" unpatchable edition of Version 1.1.610 sometime in the past year. There's quite the horror story on Simtropolis[community.simtropolis.com]. Apparently, those who redeemed CD Keys to get free copies are still getting 1.1.641, so Origin is flat out lying about not having "access" to the properly patched version (plus their parent company owns the freaking source code).
Steam, GOG, Amazon, and virtually everyone EXCEPT Origin are selling legitimate Version 1.1.641 copies, which do not need to be patched.
I've been trying to get traction again with the gaming media again with this, and also have sought out documentation of more cases, to try to build up some pressure. Unfortunately, it's been a lot harder to do so of late. We are going to plaster the upcoming NAM 36 release with warnings about the Origin version, with the hopes of drawing more awareness to the situation.

I had missed this. Didn't Origin update their files just few years ago, after it was brought up? I don't exactly recall right now, but wasn't it brought up by you?
It is hard to figure out what the heck they are doing there. Thank you for correction.
They did update their retail edition to Version 1.1.641 back in August 2014, after I started putting the screws on them, and PC Gamer picked it up. From the looks of it, they reverted back when no one was looking.
