Compatibility with VR Mod
Half-Life 2 :gordon: with the perfect VR mod is an amazing experience. An experience as good as Half-Life Alyx :alyx: itself. I hope RTX Remix will be fully compatible with it. :heart_emo:

yeah good luck with that i hate to be that guy but this is almost definitely not working with any VR mod rtx remix itself is already intense on even the most high end of hardware now put that on two screens just not going to work.

Hl2 vr mod will rock our lives!
Please make this happen..
Sure you need high end System but also tweaking it to lower res and maybe less detail will give a breathtaking Experience!

Having said that, we are going to be working with other members of this new super-team, on back-porting as much of the shiny new HD content as we can to the old source engine, and putting that into our HL2VR graphics update."

This is great to hear, I'm also curious if they're going to update HL2VR to incorporate the changes from the 20th Anniversary update, that plus this would make the best vanilla HL2 experience ever in VR.

fwiw, it might not be that far away, some of the devs for this mod were the ones to make the HL2:vr mod, i'm pretty sure they will be tinkering and testing it out.

I just want to turn off the RTX and use the new assets and textures in the VR mode

You need the Source SDK to make mods right? at least complex ones. If so they might update it so that people can make stuff with the new Anniversary build, after all they finally gave HL2 workshop support which means they are interested in modding (I hope).

It's unlikely that any current GPU could run this in vr without some black magic but anything is possible.

Obviously it won't. Because raytracing in VR is not a thing yet.

But, some of the people working in HL RTX are also the people who made the HL2 VR mod.

A few months ago they had an interview and they've confirmed that once HL2 RTX is finished, they will port all the enhanced assets, models, textures into HL2 VR. So we will be able to play HL2 VR with these remade assets, but without the ray tracing lighting, of course.

It should end up looking damn near as good as Half-Life Alyx.

This would be great. Current state of Half-Life 2 RTX demo not very good, so just assets, models, textures will be even better than full mod.
why does the demo ask me for a license? tHEY MADE A BIG DEAL OUT OF THE RELEASE... I played Alyx 100 times and no issues.

Current state of HL2 RTX is exceptional. Really amazing stuff if you have to proper hardware.
But VR will forever be my favourite way to play HL2.
