CTD ? Computer Crashes and restarts ?

Got to Settings/ Display / scroll down to graphics/ Look for HL2 RTX or if not found add it as a app/ Disable optimize for windows games

My game works fine now and no more crashing or computer restarting. I am sure someone else figured it out already, but just in case.

I saw someone on reddit claim it was the DLSS frame generation causing the crashes. I don't know for sure if that's the case, but the game did finally stop crashing my entire PC at the main menu when I disabled frame generation (have to do it at the Valve intro screen before the main menu appears).

I guess everyone had a different issue. My game was not even letting open up the menu. It was a Entire Crash. I had the same issue with COD Infinite Warfare. Disabling the Windows Optimization for games fixed it

Omg, thank you so much, this worked.
For anyone having the issue where the game causes your entire pc to lock up/restart, open the RTX Remix overlay with ALT + X and untick the "DLSS Frame Generation" box near the bottom of the menu. Like NatSpectrum said, you need to do it while the Valve intro is playing, otherwise it will get to the actual game and still cause your pc to lock up/restart.
