Half Life 2 RTX Demo Crash - RTX Remix Runtime Error!

Go this message when starting HL2RTX demo: RTX Remix Runtime Error!
The RTX Remix Runtime has encountered an unexpected issue. The application will close.

Please collect any:
*.log files in <application_directory>/rtx-remix/logs/
*.dmp files next to the application or in the .trex folder
and report the error at https://github.com/NVIDIAGameWorks/rtx-remix/issues.

Running on laptop with RTX 4070 8GB and AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS with 16GB DDR5 RAM latest version of Windows 11 Pro and Nvidia driver

Same. I just want to play the game. Not sure why this is so difficult.

Same. Tried all fixes via the interwebs (google led me here: https://youtu.be/8TtHXdAh0cE?si=tZVP4KprRx_2X7Qx). None of these worked. Any new ideas?

Do you own Half life 2? Also, you should disable things like steam overlays.

Gotcha, make sure all overlays are disabled then. The only one that's "approved" is frameview. Your dump shows that at least the steam overlay is running.

Disabling the steam overlay fixed the crash at the beginning of the game. Thank you!!!!!

Same, game crashes in main menü. Overlay and nv statistic server disabled.... before the hotfix the game starts without crashes.

If you want help you should do what the OP did, collect all the data and report on GitHub. You can cross post here too but for visibility sake GitHub is best.
