Half-Life 2 RTX

Half-Life 2 RTX

This is just trash to promote the super ultra mega frame generation 5000 series.
incredibly disappointed, I never expected to see something like this. Frame generation is doom

4070 is enough for this with high settings, don't need 5000. unless you want ultra and 4k.
Can't wait until mods which will turn off RTX, or make it more simple.
On low preset like a soap in the eyes:steamsalty:

Better yet, they're going to change something very tiny like in Alan Wake 2 and suddenly the game is going to fly, who would have imagined it.

lol poor snowflake I'm running this on a 4070 ti super at 95 fps maxed out so I'm good no 5000 series needed and it looks great!

can't wait for games to be optimized and not depend on fake frames, lol.

Running this on my RTX 5090 at 4K Ultra 144fps.
4080 here and the game ran smooth 100-140 fps 1440p with dlss. So not as demanding as i feared. Without dlss it was like 70 fps, but looked much worse. So this was made clearly with dlss in mind. Cool demo though, but this tech is way too hard to run with current gen gpus... maybe like 7000 series will be on par with it

I tried it on a 3090 at 1440p maxed out I was getting around 40fps but the game looked terrible. even worse when DLSSS was of. I spent Half an hour tinkering with the settings and had no luck improving it. I would have rather had a remaster than this or HALF-LIFE3 LOL

I also have a 4070 and at 3440x1440 high preset I get around 60 - 70 fps with performance dlss and frame generation. Tried at 1080p with performance dlss and frame gen, and I was getting around 30 frames more or so. What is your definition of "enough"? Because the input lag is through the roof with frame generation when your base fps is lower than 60.

You should ask for your money back.

Literally what I got out of it. Soon as they showcased 270 fake frames of goodness.

Did anybody look at what happened to this mess when you turned the DLSS off?? Jeesh. Wtf gaming has come to.
It runs great on the 4090, it's not just a 5000 series demo.

I prefer to original HL2. RTX with 20 years old assets and high-res textures is not enough to make the game look like 2025, but takes away its classic retro style.
