Half-Life 2 RTX

Half-Life 2 RTX

Did anyone else get a BSOD?
4070 TI Super, 14770k here. I booted it up, I tried to look at the settings while it was in the Valve logo intro. Then the menu loaded and bam, BSOD. I have updated my MOBO and have not had issues compiling shaders since.

I'm checking other topics about this on other games.
Nvidia borked something with the 5xx drivers and it's all fked up.
Maybe we'll never get a fix on this.
It was not an issue 2 months ago... Fk Nvidia really...

Confirmed, you can't use G-sync+FG with this game.

The nvidia stuff has overall been reaching stage of now entirely unusable. Due to RNG this works for me but cyberpunks ray tracing does not.

Based on my cyberpunk experience it will eventually work for no reason, then game or pc will start crashing.

Its cycle is like this: Works for very long time. Starts randomly crashing very long time. Starts crashing pc for very long time. No particular order.

We have reached devolution its not just AMD jank now its nvidia jank.

I have been feeling this for the past year. The nvidia overlay hardly works and will just show N/A despite working five minutes earlier. And I was just trying to do a capture in Yakuza Kiwami and did the key combo to start it and it showed nothing and then like 5 seconds after pressing the keys it starts. Nvidia FG would crash Spider-Man 2 for me every single time I enabled it but FSR FG worked fine.

Makes you wonder if "AI is the future" like they are claiming then why don't they use that AI to make their software better? Almost like they are just BS artists pumping up another trend to get their stocks higher while their products get worse. So tired of it.

Yeah nvidia sucks i forget what issue i had but i got big mad and just switched to obs for replay saves. I do have to remember to boot and activate replay buffer though.

4080, 13700k, newest drivers and crashes followed by a system restart. No BSOD

Also the game wouldn't launch until I did a driver update.

Originally, G-Sync being enabled was what was causing the crashing with Frame Gen enabled. I disabled G-Sync which allowed Frame Gen. However, I have fixed that as well and is probably causing the crashing for many others as well.

I deleted the nvngx_dlssg dll file which was ver 310.1 and downloaded 310.2
That allowed for FG + G-Sync to work without crashing.

I also had an issue with FG turning everything blue for me....
To correct the issue with FG turning everything blue for anyone having that problem as well, I had Image Sharpening enabled in the Nvidia Control panel. After disabling that, the colors displayed as normal with FG enabled.

I had the new nvidia drivers installed but the issue with Frame Gen persisted until I did what I said in my post above yours.
