Jimmy is very impulsive, and tries to avoid his psyche evaluation after sexually assaulting and impregnating Anya. He continues shoving pills down Curly's throat despite the fact that it's causing him MORE pain, not less. He forgets Anya saying that the mouthwash is pretty much useless as a disinfectant when he applies it to Daisuke. Anya never gets a psyche evaluation at all, because she's the only nurse (with questionable qualifications). And allowed Curly to administer it to Jimmy despite there being an obvious bias, with them being friends. She also (arguably) waits too long to tell anyone about her assault, though that's kind of victim blaming, it puts everyone else in danger with what ultimately transpires. Swansea is a selfish, bitter drunk who relapses and drags Daisuke down with him. He is the only one Anya tells about the rape and yet he does nothing about it. Curly while generally a good Captain, is overly sympathetic, letting things slide and ignoring orders from corporate.Heck, Pony Express corporate doesn't put locks on their sleeping quarters, and only provides 4 cryo pods on a 5-person ship!
If anyone took responsibility at the right time, a lot of what happened probably could've been avoided entirely. The only one who even tries is Curly, who gets the closest thing to a "good ending" of any of the crew there's more, too, if you look for it.
Ive always been partial to the Succubus from Agony...
It wouldn't be the first time a bunch of teenagers got themselves worked up declaring that a mediocre bit of media is a deep meaningful work of art, and wind up over-explaining the really basic story (like the person a few replies above) to anyone who will listen.
