Burnout, won't start...................

I launch burnout and it loads gets to the loading screen and then *BAM* it's crashed i put it in compatability mode for Vista AND Xp (sp2 and 3) it still won't launch is there anyhting i can do? can someone please help me?

Here is the deal guys, it worked (I have the game with origin), but i believe will work just fine on steam. Go to where the game is installed, then go to the file BurnoutParadise.exe and change the compability to windows XP. I guarantee you that will work!

nope. tried compatibility mode ages ago, and one more time now just to be sure. just crashes on the first loading screen. I have never had a webcam, so unless there is some secret built in webcam program that came with my windows or something that cant be my problem either. Running windows 8, figured that was the problem but sounds like some people with 7 still have the same glitch. Never get sound, could be crashing when it tries to load sound drivers or something too.

Ok, guess what, I got it working with a totally new solution. I managed to score a free origin code for the game, registered the code with origin, and then closed steam and launched in origin. I did not uninstall the game that I downloaded on steam at all. Origin actually automatically opened steam and launched it from steam, and then it worked. WHAT? My best guess is that because its an EA game it tries to log into your origin account on startup or something, and when you are thru steam it cant do that? For people who don't want to buy the game twice, maybe try opening origin and logging in, then try starting the game? Not sure if you can use steam codes to re-register on origin too, might be a way... going to try starting game on steam again now...

Ok, tried starting in steam without loging out of origin, did not start. same crash on first load screen. Then I tried starting on origin with steam open. Did NOT start, same crash again. Then I closed steam entirely and started on origin again. Again origin logged into my steam account and started the game, and again the game worked. Not sure if starting on origin with steam closed means I'm using the origin product code I entered instead of the steam code? maybe that is the difference? the code shouldn't make a difference, that would mean it's something with steams codes that is the problem, but that makes no sense. Just evil EA messing with us again I guess.

I could try deleteing the game entirely from steam and re-installing through origin, see if that works, but I don't think I will, not until I've actually played this game a bit! I bought it like 6 months ago and this is the first time it has ever worked. I hope this helps some people find a solution, good luck guys.

I tried all of the above, but what finally solved it for me was changing the sound from Stereo to 5.1

I wasn't able to play burnout for almost a year now, (hasn't worked since I bought it on steam) crashed all the time at start up, just tried for the first time in ages and it works fine. Camera thing still busted, but someone must have updated something for the game to be working now, because I sure didn't change anything. Maybe there is still hope for camera fix? But I really doubt it.

I had this issue.

It doesn't happen if I use the configuration tool to set the game to run in my native desktop resolution.

You can set it to whatever you want once the game actually starts.

I think I solved this f**** Problem for some of us: Also with me no Soluttion worked until I reinstalled my PC and tried to start Burnout everytime I installed new software. So the winner is: Bitdefender!!
Go to Antivirus and Firewall and add burnout.exe to the exceptions - et voila - burnoout starts again. Funnily enough to stop Bitdefender in total didn't solve the case, not until I added the exceptions ; ) ! Me and my kids happy again playing Burnout also on W8.1 and the new PC!!!
Perhaps also other Antivirus Software is affected.
Worked für Steam, Origin and CD Version - had a few PCs to install this week ; )
