My game crashes when trying to start

So I just got this game. Going to start playing and having some fun but the game wont start, whenever I try to start it the game gets to the paradise loading screen but then crashes. I am on Windows 8.

Same problem on Windows 8, when I was on win 7 it worked properly

hey guys i had this to on windows 8, do this

Find the BurnoutParadise.exe right click it, go to properties, compatibility tab, and check "run this program in compatibility mode for:" and I chose "Windows XP (Service Pack 3)"

I dont have a webcam installed but for some reason dxtory recording software was seen as a webcam in the drop box in the config from the game, so unistalled dxtory and boom it worked, so check if you have any software listed in the webcam part and unistall / disable it, it should work, let me know

Alright guys! I fixed it. All I had to do was simply removing Dxtory from my pc. Any webcam softwares will mess the game up

I fixed the problem.

In C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Burnout(TM) Paradise The Ultimate Box/BurnoutConfigTool i desactivate the webcam and now it work.

Hey guys,

So I played this for the first time yesterday and had no problems after a couple of hours. Tried booting it up today and it crashed almost immediately. Ended up playing for about 10 min after a few tries, but then it crashed in the middle of the game. Repeated the process with the same results. Tried some solutions I've read (enable compatibility mode, disable webcam, change anti-aliasing, etc) and nothing worked. Any other ideas? I guess I can try reinstalling it...

I'm on Windows 7 (64bit) by the way.

i'm having the same problem and i have tried the solutions and they didn't work and i turned my computer on today and it crashes within 10 seconds of loading.

Thank you SO MUCH. I kept reading about disabling any webcams, but I never bothered to check if I had anything under the webcam category. Uninstalled DXtory and it's back to working :D

I have the same problem: the game used to work and, then, it just began to crash at the loading screen. Compatibility solutions didn't work for me. Then, I saw someone offering a software that would take down the intro. So I came out with a solution that worked for me: I just keep pushing Enter at the loading screen. So far it hasn't failed

Dont know if this will help anyone else I disabled VOIP settings within the configuration settings and intergrated webcam (Laptop) this worked for me.

Not true, I run on Windows 10 and have a webcam. On my way to finally beating this game. Anytime I get close to a class A license, Windows crashes and forces a reinstall.
