Cannot change bike appearance

So I have this problem, when driving the FV-1100-T1 saying that it needs to be repaired first, when I try to visit the paint shop. And it cannot be changed in the Junkyard too.
I tried searching the web for solution, but only found this: http://steamcommunity.com/app/24740/discussions/0/864976115678399552/

I have no idea what to change, since I never used a HEX editor before.
Every help appreciated.
I am using a PC with WIN 7.

EDIT: The bikes cannot be repaired in shops like cars, and even crashing the bike (which resets it) doesn't help.

I don't understand your problem, but try to repair your bike before.

Same problem here. Unlocked the bike, and as you do with cars, you need to repair it first in order to be able to paint it. Except you can't repair bikes. At all. Anywhere.

in order to do the fix from the above post you will need a hex editor like this one

then goto your save game location. typically it is in C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Criterion Games\Burnout Paradise\Save

then you need to open Profile.BurnoutParadiseSave file with the hex editor program of your choice.

then you click on search then click on find then type 04 9A 99 59 3F 00 , change the data type to hex-values and click ok to start the seatch.

once you find that string of numbers replace them with 04 00 00 00 00 00

if you have both of the bikes unlocked then you will need to search again for the second string and change that aswell.

save the file and when you go back into your game you will be able to paint your bikes.
