First off, I made the mistake of contacting EA. I spent an hour with them, mostly on hold. They could not solve my problem, and were all around clueless. I'll actually be emailing them later today, and will include the following info.
So...
1. Go to Steam/Steamapps/common/Burnout Paradise and find burnoutparadise.exe. Right-click, and go into properties. Go to compatibility, and set it to run under Windows 7 compatibility.
2. Now, run the game, and login using your origin login info.
3. It will say it's connecting, and....
4. the screen will change, and a small button will appear on the bottom right of your screen which says BACK TO GAME. Click it, and you're good to go!
this method worked me like a charm.
goto www.ea.com/profile/login
sign in. once you are signed in you will see the following
ID:
Email:
Date of birth
Member since.
what you want to do is sign in to Burnout paradise with your ID.
hope this helps.
bare in mind the store for the game is offline, but multiplayer still works fine
just push CTRL+ALT+DEL then cancel and on the right bottom will be the back to the game icon and you are good to go
