Spore Mod API Not Working?

I've tried to run the API, but it's crashing on me. I've tried reinstalling over and over again, and it's still crashing on me. Anyone got any solutions?

It means the API Isn't going to work anymore... the modding scene is dead. they probably won't be updating it any time soon since this game is Old so we are going to have to wait for a New API to take over.... This Error is due to an Invalid App ID.

Anyways the only way to mod the game right now is to follow this guide... sadly this means you wont be able to use the Online Componant...

I have experienced the same problem too. We need a new spore mod API launcher kit. Prove me wrong otherwise. While waiting for one, let's just play the game normally without the spore mod API launcher.

I've heard the guys behind Spore Mod API are aware of this issue, and are working on fixing it. So for the time being, the best thing to do is wait.

Yup Spore ModAPI is done... I was able to fix the Steam Error (It's due to Galactic Adventures having Core Spore's App ID) but the API Just Doesn't work anymore... it just crashes when launching

Anyways it's due to the install for GA having the wrong App id in it's steam_appid.txt file... even if changed to the correct App id the API still won't work due to the .exes being changed...

Well, I guess that's a wrap. In conclusion. the Spore Mod API Launcher is done. All we can do now is play spore without it. Unless....

Mods will work.
You just need to downgrade Spore to the March 2017 Patch.

To downgrade Steam Spore to March2017, do the following:

• Press Windows Key (Win) + R, and type in steam://open/console/ to open Steam's console.
  
• From the Steam console, enter the command download_depot 24720 24721 7407510787032991484 to prompt Steam to download the old version.
  
• When it's installed, it will not be in the default location but instead in Steam/Steamapps/Content/, go there and, assuming it exists, navigate to app_24720/depot_24721/SporeBinEP1.
  
• Copy the SporeApp.exe contained in that folder, and replace the existing one in the installed game's directory, usually Steam/Steamapps/Common/Spore/SporebinEP1, with the newly-downloaded version from the depot.

okay, but then why does it say the data directory is missing or corrupted???

That is an entirely different error, usually caused by the game's registry entries being broken.
Reinstalling the game (make sure you uninstall ALL copies before installing again and only install one copy at a time), and then reapplying the downgrade fix, should work.
