Crypt of the NecroDancer

How do I launch in windowed mode by default?
I do not like how it minimizes when I'm using another window when the game runs in fullscreen (by default) so I'm trying to avoid that by using windowed mode.
I understand that "1" and "0" are the commandline options for fullscreen and windowed but adding "0" (without quotes) to launch options crashes the game since you make steam add the "1" while launching. This doesn't work either.

Ideally, you would make the game run in fullscreen with no parameters and in windowed mode with some parameter.

Running the game by right clicking and selecting "Launch in windowed mode" every time I want to play is rather asinine.

Oh and I'm on Windows 10.

Hi Cindy, thanks for replying.

What you suggested sets the window size for when the game is in windowed mode. Windowed mode is not the default option for when you're running via desktop shortcuts.

After some fiddling around, I seem to have found a fix. I'm posting here in case there are others in the same boat. Set the following in launch options;
"[Path to game executable]" || [Window width] [Window height] %command%

e.g. for me, it looks like;
"D:\Applications\Steam Applications\steamapps\common\Crypt of the NecroDancer\NecroDancer.exe" || 1920 1080 %command%

This is optional, but I also use {LINK REMOVED} to remove the borders for a true borderless fullscreen window.

Hope it helps someone out there.

Hi, these steps should be able to help you:

-Right click on Crypt of the NecroDancer in your Steam library list
-Go to "Properties"
-Click the "Set launch options..." button
-Enter your desired resolution in the following format:

1920 1080

If you set your launch options to "1920 1080" the game will start at the resolution 1920x1080
Alternatively, if you are playing in windowed mode, you can drag the corner of the window to resize it as you please.

Let me know if this works out for you!

Hope it helps someone out there.

And what do i type in this "%command%" thing, it's not clear at all.

EDIT - i found what this %command% thing is elsewhere. The %command% thing is the command itselft, and it overrides the way steam normally works or something like that.
