Don't make the mistake of activating the scroll first, it will wear off as soon as you throw it.
Ha. Agree. Especially since I only play this game in Coop. I can finish it 10 times without getting anything. :)
Ha. There was not riches scroll when I played it. Just 2 enemies who drop coin. Now I tried to room again and it had riches scroll like you said. Seems it was fixed in a patch.
Now I realized how the old version (which was much more difficult) probably was meant to be done; kill a green slime and play tag with a wizard enemy. Prepare dagger at good spot and timing so that the wizard will suck you onto the gold when your dagger is ready to be thrown.
Yeah. The riches scroll+golden weapon is rare though, as it only works with dagger and spear since you cannot agro the shopkeeper with other weapons. But besides that, i`d say that in a full run of 4 stages, you will get at 90% at least one of the special weapons shown in that tutorial puzzle (100% if you count bomb-only kills).
Biggest problem is though, that you rarely gain anything by killing shopkeeper and it only harms you. Most of the time you have the money to buy things (in full run at least), and by killing him you only hurt your future.
