Brand new to the game and want to use SNES gamepad
How would you suggest I map the controls? Thanks for any responses!

SNES, you could map the directional buttons to the D pad, right on the D pad will work as the "A/accept/ok/enter" button in game

Mapping directional buttons to the D-pad won't work because up+down and left+right are commands, and it's physically impossible to press both because of the way a D-pad works.

Yeah, didn't think of that. I use a 360 controller, the colored buttons are what I use, but I think SNES only has 2 colored buttons, right? I guess I'd just suggest not to use an SNES gamepad, use xbox or ps

The SNES gamepad has 4. You might be thinking of the NES?

You could just bind the multi-press commands to the buttons while the D-pad is for moving.

Then I'd just use those, they work really well for my 360 controller.

Just bind the movement keys to A, B, X, Y.

Not sure if you can map multiple keys, but you could also map your D-Pad as alternative input. This allows you to input left+right commands by pressing Left on the D-Pad along with the A Button. It's much easier on the fingers.

Thanks for our input, everyone! Hope I can figure something out...if not, 360 pad it is!

WARNING: I use an SNES controller and love it, but either the controller or the adapter I use can't process key commands quickly enough to play as Bolt. You'll be fine for anyone else but it'll simply miss inputs if you're trying to move double time on fast songs (Death Metal makes my poor controller cry.)
