Keyboard vs Controller
I tend to favor the Keyboard for most games, but some games are just meant for controller. For example Volgarr the Viking has support for both, but it is difficult to play well with the keyboard. I just bought this game today, which should I use, controller or keyboard? Which do you prefer and why?

Keyboard. Mainly because the game doesn't really require precision analog control. It can be played with only 4 buttons. And WASD (IMO) is easier to move with than the d-pad on a controller.

I can't tell if a controller is bad or not but I'm pretty sure keyboard works best as you'll have an easier time tapping the arrow keys over whatever you get on your controller. :necroshovel:

Just to clarify, this is not a game that is hard to play with a keyboard.

If, for some bizarre reason, you've got a dancepad, you should try that. I never played with a dancepad because i don't have one, but i'd really like to try one day.

That said, i think keyboard is way better than controller... but i'm way too biased, since i played DDR on keyboard for years :P
Dancepad is fun. It's really hard though - at least for me and I'm in good enough shape to run 5+ miles at a time. But it's seriously the way to play. You can get a cheap dancepad for 20 bucks that's servicable enough to work just fine.

FYI the default binding uses the *buttons* on an xbox 360 style controller, not the analogue stick or dpad.

I prefer the controller, personally - likely depends if you're sat at a desk or not.

Keyboard is definitely easier to use than controller, especially when executing special moves. Wireless keyboard ftw, sit back and play on the couch on the big screen.
OK after a suggestion from another player I tried out using my fighting stick, central 4 buttons. Great feel! Think I'll be sticking with it :)

I don't have a controller but I have (because of reasons) two keyboards connected and found out keyboard quality is critical – more critical than any other game that comes to my mind. With my Das Keyboard and it's clickety-clickety mechanical keystrokes I can only blame myself when I fail, but with the cheap basic Logitech I found myself blaming the keyboard.

This thread is from over a year ago, but thanks anyway. I play with a keyboard (logitech wireless, no issues).
