- F**king fun.
- F**king dope.
- F**king difficult.
Of course you may not like it, but despite it's a rhythm game it's still kind of a rogue. I think, at least in a "spiritual" level, has a lot to do with Spelunly and Isaac. If you liked those, it's pretty sure you will love this one.
+AWESOME music, that once you get the hang of it makes the rhythm aspects almost ignorable at times.
+many playable characters, including one that removes the rhythm aspect.
+12 randomly generated levels each run
+Many bosses to fight
+Large item variety
*Similar to nuclear throne, and the binding of isaac.
*moddable
*use your own music
*a story mode spanning 3 characters that gets insane the further you go.
-A bit confusing at first
-Steep difficulty curve
-Really poor starting gear (as most characters)
-Most bonus characters give really unfair penalties to the game (no collecting money, resting, one hit, etc.)
OVERALL: rhythm games are usually hated for thier lack of depth. you will find no end to the depth of the rogue-like COTND. however, be prepared for a hard challenge.
I should add to my list above, I don't like any 'chiptune' music, which is what the trailers sound like.
Game soundtracks I love are orchestral: thebest are Total Annihilation and Diablo II.
Is the game difficulty more about things like twitch movement, or more like Rogue where it's just difficult combat?
Dude there's a fine line between resolution and artstyle.
About the music, the only thing alike chiptune is the Shopkeeper voice. Everything else goes from disco to metal.

Again, you may not like it, but it's hard to say that it's not the very best work of Danny B.
My favourite tracks are possibly the combo of the 2 Necrodancer themes when fighting him.

The game isnt that hard. It takes practice but none of the enemies or traps are cheap or unfair.
