Favorite weapon?

Wanted to know what all your favorite weapons/weapon + item combos are. Hopefully I'll get some ideas on what to use during the Undeadly achievement! ^^

For me, the favorite weapon must be a blood longsword. Helped me out a lot during previous runs, but the electric dagger is an awesome weapon as well.

For speedrunning, I love using the axe, rapier, and cat, especially with glass/obsidian and courage. It's thrilling (even if I usually die within ten seconds).

For more casual runs, I prefer a safer double-courage build, say shovel of courage, ring of courage, and a tit/obs/glass longsword/spear/rapier/flail/harp.

Item combos, the best are blast helm + grenade charm, dagger of frost + ring of frost, and lead boots + gun.

But if you're seriously thinking about Undeadly, it's best to go with a safer build. Usually blood/titanium, armor's usually chainmail/heavy plate (not gi), and ring's something nice, like peace or regen.

I haven't even cleared Cadence yet. I really want Melody, but I've gotten to the final boss 3 or 4 times just to screw it up each time. Have done Bard clear twice(once for the achievement and then one for the 6k gold achievement), a Nocturna clear, and even a Dove clear.

I try to go for Longsword, Spear, Cutlass, or a Bow since I want the range. I would generally take a base of either of those over the Titanium one for a different weapon. Obsidian is generally same power as base or just a little above it for me anyway since I always drop the beat quickly. Though Obsidian seems to be nice if you have Ballet Shoes, or are actually good at keeping rhythm(yeah, I don't ever expect to actually beat Aria)

Though I'd still likely take a jewel dagger or dagger of frost over one of those.

Mmmm, if you're planning on trying the boss, try stocking up on bombs and then blow your way through the stage. Melody's slightly easier than Cadence, I got all-zones Melody faster than all-zones Cadence. Thanks for the suggestions though, and I'm looking forwards for more weapons/builds people like to use. ^^

I like spear, because you can plan your moves more accurate than when you have further range weapons (sometimes i hit a monster unexpectly from high range and then i got hit from enemy that i sohuldn't be hit by). Throwing option is also good for finishing bosses (1/2 heart death metal for example).

But soundtracks are the best weapon and even when im playing Aria with dagger, i can feel like i am using Excalibur while listening to the epic FamilyJules' tracks

if u have the dlc you should rly get a warhammer @ ur first opportunity. that and the ring of frost or piercing. other than that i really like the obsidian/titanium longsword. if you get a crown of thorns it can help u out a lot for undeadly, same w the shopkeeper familiar.

I prefer the spear, but whips are reaaly good just took me time to actually get used to the range on them also dagger of frost saved my ass more than once.

The whip, so fun to kill while dodging every attack.

The axe with the ring of pain is fun, on late zones where there are lot of monsters and you chains slashs with the "pain" protecting you.

I LOVE THE WHIP, it's like the dagger, but with the moving, you can't be touched while attacking at the same time ^^

I hate the whip, the range is too large so I keep hitting things when I want to move.

Before Amplified, I was enjoying the Blood Crossbow, or the Blood Flail, Titanium was a next-best for both, and I'd often try to find the holster so I could swap between them on the fly. Combine with Ring of War, and I don't remember if we had Crown of Thorns in vanilla, but if we did, add it as well.

After Amplified, the Blood Cutlass, Crown of Thorns, Ring of Piercing, Boots of Might, Shovel of Might, and Torch of Might. If I have the holster, Blood Warhammer can come along.

Basically, for undeadly, use ONLY long ranged weapons. Dying to a minotaur on your 10th run is NOT fun. Having 2 defence and 2+ damage is a goal for every run. Ring of Frost, Battle Shovel and Freeze spell are all incredibly valuable although not necessary.
