Lower the lines speed
AFAICT I am supposed to press the movement buttons when the lines on the bottom are close to the heart. But they are moving so fast! Is it possible to slow them down? I couldn't find an option in the options menu.

Hi! Yes, you are correct that you need to hit a movement button when the lines come together in the heart. (The lines represent the beats in the music.) The lines will move slower or faster depending on how slow or fast the music track is.

There is no way to slow them down, but if you are feeling overwhelmed by it going too fast you should try the Bard character. He doesn't need to move to the beat of the music and enemies only move when he does. Bard is unlocked by default and can be found by going into the Character Select steps in the Lobby. Many people find it's easier to start off playing the game as Bard until they learn about the game and feel comfortable enough to play Cadence.

Hey. I just wanted to say I was concerned about this as well. I was about to give up on wanting this game (thinking it'd be too fast), BUT this thread may have just re-vamped me to buy this game. :RogueMimic::happymeat:

You should indeed buy it. The lines don't move THAT fast; you'll eventually just get used to it.

It might help if you turn off HUD Heart in options so you can see the beat bars meet in the center more clearly. But really what you want to do is play by ear rather than by watching the bars - keep your eyes focused on the game!

Yeah, I've NEVER ever paid attention to the bars. It's all by ear really.

Since anything I could really comment to attempt to be helpful is already done I am just going to aknowledge how odd that we tend to always be in the same places.

Its not usually the speed that ruins your combo, its when you cant quite grasp the right rhythm. Every level has their own tempo and some are easier for some people and some are harder.

Aria's 3-3 ruined me. I then changed it to Girlfriend Records xP

You can use custom music tracks, although those tend to be more difficult, because it's hard to find a song of the right length and speed with a constant rhythm...

Bard was my first win
