And you can still damage him directly by using the phasing dagger, or dealing infinite damage with weapon/item effects (or even just dealing absurdly high damage is enough to break his defence, ussually with like 15+ damage from a Rapier Lunge + maxed War Drums). Which either skips the bell phase or kills him in his second phase.
Practice still helps alot against new bosses, though, especially the final bosses.
There's some fancier quick strats for when he spawns on the left, but the ones in this video are the easiest and most reliable methods.
Meanwhile, it's important to watch the Dead Ringer and prevent him from hitting other bells at the same time, or you'll get swarmed. If he runs towards a bell, simply tease him by standing on a straight line from him, and he'll run that way instead. Then side-step and finish whatever it is you were doing while he's wasting his time.
The last stage is easy if you are 1 on 1. Stand in the central column and move up vertically to make the Dead Ringer pursue you diagonally. Then side-step once he's in the same column too and voila. Well, you might also need to circle around once afterwards if he charged down instead of up...
No need to delete anything, you are probably not the last one who'll struggle with Dead Ringer. ;)
Once all bells are rung, DR either clears everything or i end up trapped and get squished.
