Favorite Foods
I noticed there was a thread where people talked about what foods they didn't like with this game... and I was wondering - what foods do you think are the best? And at what points in the game are they the best?

At the moment my standard setup is Wine, Beer, Soup, Fish, Steak, Lobster. Wine and Soup only for the money. When menu rot occurs, I use Lasagna, Chicken Breast and Banana Foster.

My favorite setup is:

Early game I favor beer, soda, salad and soup. I will cycle burger, pizza, and fish between two slots to keep them all fresh. This makes for good early game income when you have few prep stations and can afford to spend more prep time per dish.

Late game I will replace the beer and soda with wine and coffee, and the burger and pizza with steak and lobster. This reduces prep per dish (critical with more prep stations), gives a lot of healthy dishes (more buzz), and each dish has good upgrades (more profit).

Soup, salad, and fish are good all game long. Soup is complicated, but is a healthy staple with an excellent sale price. Fish gets menu rot, but it's ridiculously easy to prepare with a good sale price. Salad is a healthy staple thats fairly easy to prepare.

Also, early on you'll be short on funds. I recommend prioritizing equipment first, then new menu items, then item upgrades. Challengs and events require specific items, not upgrades.

I love making nachos for some reason.

Besides that, fish and beer are amazing the earlier you get them. Lasagna is easy to make as well, and pays a decent amount.

I don't usually care about what foods I play with, but I usually use a menu of Soup, Salad, Steak, Lobster, Sushi, and Fish. It gives a decent Buzz bonus so I don't get bored and is about as difficult as I want the game to be.

Each food has a different preparation time and cooking time, so it's easy to arrange them so that I won't miss any orders. Sushi and Salad both require no cooking, Fish and Lobster are both easy to prepare before cooking, and Soup and Steak have complex recipes with long cooking times.

I dislike Wine because of all the button mashing. Everyone seems to hate Kabobs because they require you to memorize all the recipes rather than read them.

1. Chicken
2. Beer
3. Fish
4. Salad

The Beer and Salad are staples, so no worries about menu rot. the Chicken and Fish are easy prep and then you just have to get 'em out of there when they're cooked.

Healthy bonuses everytime I can, sometimes I even let a rot healthy bonus food if I have big buzz during the day since my $$$ is on them and they are easy for me to make.

I despise any menu with complicated shortcuts most time like the pizza.. My speed of serving depends on reading the menu on the bottom... example if there is onion and olive, in which one use shortcut O while other use L, it makes me have to think before serving. :X

I despise soup for this and the complicated cut... never gonna buy it.

The only items I never use are fried foods. They are absolutely terrible in every aspect and can make it literally impossible to get all perfects. Everything else gets rotated around because it's fun to do that. I like to try to run the hardest possible menus (without fried foods) sometimes.

I always start with fish and salad, and probably steak (and a couple of other items to rotate through, which vary). Chicken is a good grab when I can afford it. I like to introduce new items paired with fish, because the latter is so easy and quick to prepare, and then holds a station occupied long enough for me to learn the new item.

Of the specialty stuff, I like the breakfast sandwich, lobster, bananas foster, and fried rice.

My set up is usually fish, salad, and burger. Sometimes if I want a challenge I do pizza, baked potato and lasagna.

I run 4 items. Coffee and Beer are my staples that I keep all the time. (I rotate them in and out of daily special) Then the other 2 are Lobster / Chicken Breast. I switch those out every day with Fish / Fried Chicken. Always running a Surf & Turf style place.
