Cheats, won't open console!

Oh my god... Hey guys, I love this game, and I hate cheating. But somehow, I feel like cheating a little bit today ;D

Here's my problem. I read on the internet, that you should press CTRL + SHIFT + ~, but I have a danish keyboard, so I have to press ALT GR and ^ two times. But that won't open the console. I have tried to change my keyboard format to English, and pressed CTRL + SHIFT + ´

I tried in my browser, to press the button (left to the number-1 key) and it shows = ´. I know that means that I have to use SHIFT + ´ to achieve this = ~, so I thought it was as it should. Then I opened FATE, and pressed and hold' CTRL + SHIFT + ´, but it didn't work!

I try to change my keyboard format in STEAM (while writing this), but it seems like it doesn't work. Maybe my STEAM needs an restart, but I'd like some options anyway! Please tell me what's wrong!

Aww, man. Is there any possibility that I can download another copy (from something else) and cheat there? Can I then put my saved game from the downloaded copy to my STEAM one?

I have both versions (Steam and wild tangent) but i completly prefer the steam edition beacause of the lack of cheating. if i could cheat i probably would, this way im challenged.

In the Steam version there is one fairly common cheat. If you open the items file you can change one (or more) of the fish to a value of 625000. Then you just catch the fish, sell each one to the merchant at 625000 each, take the pile of cash and "cheat" your way to max fame, Spend millions on enhancements...etc. In one of these discussions the entire process is laid out, however he claims you can set the fish price to anything you like. This is technically true but when you set it a millions it will default to the 625000. Have fun

TLDR: Sold my unique weapon at shop, thankfully was able to get it back by force-shutting fate

Hey i just wanna say that at one point i almost screwed up my gameplay and almost wanna drop it off and quit.

Here's what happened: I fished a Unique (Angelic Wand) and was so happy, the weapon was what I really wanted and was looking forward to using it, i had spent all my gold in enchanting so my gold was like 17k only.

So, i teleported to town and..thinking I was opening the storage interface but it turns out to be the NPC, i shift + left click my weapons. - Basically i sold off my weapon when i meant to deposit it at the storage trunk. It took me a few moments to register what I have just done...Then the realization came and my heart sank.

It cost like 1,653,193 to get it back and my gold wasnt even close to that.. i was dejected.. but not entirely,because i know I can try to farm for a better weapon / fishing for gold - but it will take way too long

I refused to click the [Save & Exit button], i cannot bring myself to...'save' the mistake i've made.
Then, i had an epiphany: what if the game was not saved / auto-save? I could also possibly lose my progression of getting the item but at that point, selling to shop was equivalent to not owning it and i'd rather not own it in the first place than having to see it in the shop yet being helpless over my costly mistake of selling it and unable to buy it back.

In my last ditch effort, I alt - tab and force shut down fate. Thereafter i re-launch the game again to see if it worked and boy it did! I was so happy and relieved, the item is back in my inventory...i dont have to farm / fish hard, yay!

Where do you find this file? Because I just found image files and that's it!
