https://discord.gg/DMK5u3e is the place for players
The official servers shut down on 31/01/2018 (see this announcement).
The devs (Ragequit Corporation) switched development time to Strike Vector EX - released in 2017 - which is essentially a "reboot" of the original Strike Vector; I haven't got the game myself, but that would be the place to look to:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/476360/Strike_Vector_EX/
I can't speak for everyone, but I for one, as other players I'm sure, felt a bit sour after having bought the game for it to then be abandoned so they could devote time on a (unnecessary Imo) reboot of this game; owners of Strike Vector weren't even given a discount for as a "thanks" for buying and supporting the game that started it off... EDIT: I stand corrected, there was a 50% limited time discount for SV owners according to the post below, apologies for the misinformation.
Check this Steam group for both Strike Vector and Strike Vector EX meetups (the guy above posted their SVEX Discord server which they host):

I don't know why it was done this way, but it's incorrect to say there was nothing.
Unfortunately, lack of communication also meant not all people knew about the new release.
What seems to be an unnecessary reboot in context of PC/Steam - was a natural attempt to come to consoles. The game was back-ported to PC at the very last moment, after poor results at PS4. (There was a plan for Xbox release after PS4, but it was canceled - PS4 release exhausted the developers.)
Ah I didn't realise there was. Couldn't see any news about it and it was a while ago so not sure whether I never knew or couldn't remember. Apologies for the misinformation and thanks for correcting me; I've amended my post.
I didn't realise either about the back porting for SVEX either.
Unfortunately it did feel like poor communication at the time - as you say - and especially with the last major update for the original SV being in 2015, only a year after release (I think that's right(?), at least according to the latest game update announcement and on SteamDB[steamdb.info]), I remember feeling a bit short changed.
Obviously that's just my reaction as a player, not trying to come across unnecessarily bitter about it. I'm not aware of the behind-the-scenes with the developers either, so I'm sure they had their work cut out. I just wish that I knew what was happening about a game I otherwise really enjoyed and had spent money on!
Maybe I should look into grabbing a copy of EX some day (on discount of course!)
And Discord was always the place to have all the news firsthand.
Aye, will do.
Just joined the server so I'll be keeping an eye out for games to play. Are the devs on the server, or is it just for the player community?
So it's essentially for the community.
oh wow. Thats crazy. Never seen such a game full of promise get taken down and deleted by steam.
Developers went bancrupt and had to shutdown the company.
It is not allowed by French law to have financial activity after that. So they had to remove it from the store. (Although it is surprising the game is still available in PS Store. Not sure what's going on there.)
There might've been ways to handle that more gracefully though, I think. But it seems devs got a burnout from all the mishaps and weren't interested to invest any more effort in it.
The fabled indie devs that would see us usher in a new era of totally great game have proven time and time again that they're actually much worse than the "evil" big corporations like EA. Imagine that.
If you owned this game at any point, you can still install it, but there's only one server.
how did they behave?
I mean, EA literally shutdown anthem, which is multiplayer only, 1 year after a 60/99$ release lol
The game is still playable for those who have it, unlike some other multiplayer games that rely on unavailable infrastructure.
The game wasn't killed "a short time later". It was kind of dead even before SVEX PC release - there was no team behind it anymore. The reboot wasn't managed very well, troubled development and the flop on PS left the developers without resources and energy to support the game any further.
Still, even after what's happened the situation could've been handled differently. But the devs are humans as well, and they seem to be burned out and didn't want to even talk about the game anymore.
