Is the whole game in black and white?
This looks like it would a nice looking game if it had a normal color palette, but 10 minutes into the demo, and I'm just finding it really unpleasant to look it. Don't think I could stomach a whole game with such a drab look.

Hi Judge Holden. Yes, the whole game! We're aware the monochromatic palette is not for everybody. However, as the majority of the response to our color choice was positive, we discarded the possibility of adding color very early on in development, so we could stick to our artistic intent. I'm glad you liked other aspects of it though!
Thank you for playing and leaving your feedback.

Dude, it's literally a noir detective story. Of course it's black and white. It's a deliberate stylistic choice that fits the theme of the game.

What do you mean of course it's in black and white? Noir started in books. Dashiell Hammett, Raymond Chandler, et al. Noir is not fi'ing cartoony games. The earliest movies made based on those great books were in black and white because that was the only option in the 1930's and 1940's. They weren't in black and white because the source material was somehow in black and white or because they wanted to make black and white movies. 'Black and White' is just meaningless in the legitimate context of the genre.

I just read "The Big Sleep" for the first time recently. Terrific book, highly recommended, holds up 100% in 2024 despite being written in the 1930's. It was actually very noticeable how much emphasis Raymond Chandler puts on colors in describing his characters. New character introductions always include detailed descriptions of the colors of their clothes, hair, eyes, jewelry. It starts from the great very first lines of the book, in fact: "It was about eleven o’clock in the morning, mid October, with the sun not shining and a look of hard wet rain in the clearness of the foothills. I was wearing my powder-blue suit, with dark blue shirt, tie and display handkerchief, black brogues, black wool socks with dark blue clocks on them. I was neat, clean, shaved and sober, and I didn’t care who knew it. I was everything the well-dressed private detective ought to be. I was calling on four million dollars."
