How to infect Greenland when ports and land borders are closed

It depends on what kind of plague you are playing with.

It is suggested that the plague with no special ability should be infected in remote areas in the early stage of cold resistance + affinity water.

From my experience, I don't think there is a way unless you're playing Fungus

There are some random chances that make this possible, they are however very unlikely.
One is that birds fly over and infect the land. Obviously you need the trait that infects bords for that to happen but even with that trait it is very unlikely to occur.
The other one I am aware of is that an infected corpse can wash up at the coast. This is super rare, I don't know what triggers this event.
I think these events are designed to get countries even when borders and ports are closed.
They trigger so rarely, it is better to just start a new run and infect those hard countries earlier.

Usually it happens because :
- You have made adaption mistakes, that made you adapted too late to Russia (Rural, Cold, Humid).
- You have taken too much risks, but depending on what you target, why not...

In multiplayer modes, you can go to greenland by unsheduled flights.

In solo, there is no way to fix it, except :
- By playing neurax worm
- By playing fungus (spores)
- By playing active ability based plague (simian flu, vampire)
- By playing in casual level and evolving every transmissions (extreme zoonosis, extreme aero-sol), then you have a chance to infect the island somehow (it's a "tolerance" that is only available in the easiest difficulty level).

For standard plagues if you get to level 2 in all three animal transmission you will unlock Extreme Zoonosis which lets you infect across anything.

Just devolve all the lethal symptoms so you don't kill the world pop too fast and just wait for Greenland to get infected by your birds from Extreme Zoonosis.

Then ramp the symptoms back up and watch Greenland go red.

The Catalytic Switch gene helps ALOT too if you do this and drag the end game out to get Greenland. Popping all those blue plane bubbles will net you 6 - 10 per flight while you slow roll the plague.

You need to wait until a bird flys into there

Dude, the thread was four years dead. Why revive it? But if Greenland isn't affected by the time it's closed everything, you usually have to write that game off as a loss and move on to the next one.

If you're playing the Necroa virus, one of the abilities is sending hordes. You may lose some undead along the way but certain perks increase the number of zombies that will follow, so you can indeed infect Greenland and Iceland where all else fails.
