Companions cannot equip any items

So further diluting the RPG experience, Avowed's companions can't wear any items you pick up. The only thing equippable for them are cosmetics from the deluxe version.

Thought I'd share this info I just recently learned.

I honestly don't care much about this. I'm OK with companions dressing themselves. But I am concerned about the loot. My biggest problem with the Outer Worlds was the loot variety. It really hampered the exploration.

You also can't romance any companions. But they will tell you all about their amazing sex life. It's an Obsidian thing, everyone is having sex, except you.

I didn't even know dressing your companions was something people cared about. As for loot, I believe that was addressed in a RPGsite.net article someone posted to this forum a while back. You're not going to be happy if it turns out to be accurate.

It's a fun game, but not what I was hoping for. It's an entry level action game with light rpg elements. I upped the difficulty to path of the damned and enjoyed the combat. It was more rewarding as I leveled and unlocked more skills. However, I'm worried about future Obsidian and Bethesda releases moving forward now that they are underneath the Microsoft umbrella. I love deep rpg mechanics. With each release of some of my beloved franchises, everything seems to be played safer and safer. I don't think we'll ever see POE 3, but I'm certain we'll see Avowed 2.
