I'm tired of people promoting or dismissing the game because of trivial things.

If you truly like obsidian games or RPG-driven stories in general, what's the harm in waiting until a full review is up? Regardless of what that insane art director says, that's only one person. He's not the game mechanic developer or the story director; he's just an art director.

If you dislike pronoun choice, by all means, dismiss the game, remove it from your wishlist (spoilers it doesn't fckg matter, Microsoft only cares if you pre-ordered it, wishlist is just a feature to remind you if the game's out or has a discount).

But please don't just go about and link every single damn aspect of the game to woke coded.

I've read people dismiss the game because it uses bright colours and has light music and called it Woke coded when it should be the least of your concerns.
Mf Kingdom Come is bright and colourful has some light music and is so far removed from modern politics, do we call that a woke game?

I genuinely hate the people who seem to judge the game on the things around the damn game, not the game itself, and I hate how culture war thrives on this crap.

Wait until the game comes out, watch your favourite echo chamber YouTubers AND THEN judge if the game is good or not.

EDIT : For all those saying we won't wait/ don't care about the game, do know that's waiting is free and not an active thing, you can forget about the game and see the review after the fact.
Also I agree that the 70$ tag is downright insane for a non AAA game.

EDIT2 : Also also, if you're mad about matt the art director guy, its barely been one day, you speak like he won't get any repercussion, AGAIN wait (yes yes waiting again i know) for a few days because I'm sure Microsoft or obsidian will release some sort of statement.

I don't care a whit about pronouns, but Obsidian has a toxic game dev with a big mouth and he's doing damage to the brand, the game, and the studio. He needs a sit down. Game development is a team sport, and it really sucks that one person is blowing up a project that so many have worked so hard to produce.

The problem is he's the CREATIVE director, meaning he has full control of what the content is in this game. He has openly said that white people are 'crusty', which is ironic considering the large demographic for games like this are those very 'crusty' people he's referring to. To be honest, I'm sick of what gaming has become. If you were in literally any other industry, comments like what he has said recently would have gotten you fired, full stop. But you know, a company owned by Microsoft, anything goes under the freak who probably still visits Epstein's island.

I'm not sure where you've read that people have 'dismissed the game because of colors', because honestly I think the game looks nice visually. I have not seen anyone say Kingdom Come Deliverance is a 'woke' game because of the vibrant colors, so I'm not sure what point you're attempting to make here....?

I do think it is very fair to judge a game because you're giving money to someone who has worked on the game that has clearly stated his opinions very loud and proud. Why would I give money to someone who hates me? I wouldn't because that would be so stupid, you're also enabling them to do it further.

I still stand by what I say that I think some of the things people who are upset have said things that are really over exaggerated, but a lot of them do have very fair points like what I said here.

Also, may I remind everyone that Pillars of Eternity was created through Kickstarter? I would imagine the 'crusty white people' are REALLY not happy about this.

Why would you give money to someone who wants you to lose your job, and ideally die off somewhere where he doesn't have to look at you? Because that is what Matt is being accused of, denying jobs based entirely on people's skin color and sex. He has gone on quite a few racist rants and seemed to believe the studio would back on his escapades. I don't want to support companies that endorse racism or sexism in their hiring.
