Dead on Arrival if it requires DX12 and 8GB of VRAM
Also Sims 1 still best in the series.

Devs need to also optimize their games better.

This "modern game" doesn't provide anything mind-blowing or unique to require the minimum specs of 8GB VRAM. Not system RAM, but GPU RAM. Not recommended but minimum.

DX12 support is understandable and should be the norm, as that's equivalent to 1080p resolution or 8-16GB system RAM being the norm.
But more than 6GB VRAM as the minimum is like asking for 32 GB system RAM or 4K resolution to be the norm as the minimum, not even recommended.
8gb of vram is nothing special in 2024

For minimum requirements, yes, it is.

after next generation of consoles system requirements are going to be higher again.

My last 4 rebuilds have all had 32gb ram. Prolly stick 64 in next one.
Running card with 24gb vram ATM so will do it for a while.

No one who plays pc games outside of the sims is using 8gb. I have 32.

Vram, not ram.
The game on ultra + RT + DLSS uses 10gb of vram and 20gb of ram.

My point still stands.

There are games more demanding than this that run on lower specs as minimum.

Poor game optimization shouldn't be a reason for someone to upgrade.

I truly feel for people who have less than 16Gb Ram and a Poor GPU, if they have one at all.
I can't imagine what that's like, seeing all these awesome games and not being able to run them. If i still had my old PC, I'd send it you, if you paid for postage and packaging.:aloypeace:

UE5 games are demanding and if you not willing to upgrade then don't complain. requirements are reasonable.

We also have to keep in mind GPU prices, which have been ridiculously high during the last few years. So, "just upgrading" isn't an option for many people.

My system is just above the minimum requirements, and was able to run the character demo just fine, so I'm crossing my fingers for maybe 30 FPS at medium settings for the game itself.

True! But I’ve got bad experience with that. Quite risky, and still a lot of money for the good ones.
