About modding and the ToS

So I read the ToS and it basically sounded like parody and nsfw mods could be not only forcibly removed, but also legally prosecuted. As a person who enjoys both satire and fine offbrand, this got me worried. I heard the modding aspect is of the ToS might get rolled back. After the ToS gets updated, will there be a provision that provides explicit protection for mods, regardless of the thematic nature of their content? Or will we still have to walk on eggshells of getting sued for making something someone considers to cross a not-yet-decided line?

For general modding, sure. But I can see that site not allowing certain mods.

If you mean adding your own mods to the site ya, that makes sense, but I don't think they can see what I use on my computer, unless they are taking illegal screenshots to see if I am following the rules, which case I'll find a way to play purely offline because no thanks.

How does a company sitting in another country want to sue customers for using mods in games? Sounds like a funny story but will never happen. The worse thing that could ever happen in games which do not allow modding is excluding you from content.

For example if you use mods in GTA online, they could ban you for (even if they are just cosmetic). However this is a single player game, to forbit mods never ever happened in a single player game and I really do not think anything would happen if you use mods.

The whole thing is some kind of excuse to have easier in the future to be able to legally ask to remove content on certain sites, most probably a safe mechanism in case randomly internet gets mad about some mod used for X and getting attention and being able to damage the company name or the game.

Dont take it too serious, this affects to hosting sites and mod pages not directly to the players. Just make local copies and you all will be fine. (if you fear to lost the mod)

Depends on where they are hosted, they definitely won't be able to go after sites that are outside of Korea. The reason people can still get banned Sims mods easily.

either way we just need to wait and see what happens will get something in time. regardless of who makes the mod.
