Epic Mickey 1?
Why release 2 without 1? I liked the art style and gameplay of this game, but why are we missing the first game?

The first game was never released for PC, there is no port to release.

The second game was planned for a PC release, but afaik it was never released online or in the US (someone said it got a release in Europe retail?). So, this port was basically already sitting around waiting to be released.

So if a game is never released originally for PC, that means it never gets a port....riiiight.....

No, I just mean the only reason we're getting this game so late after the fact is that it was already completed a couple years ago - just not released. Afaik no port of the first game was ever started much less finished.

I *wish* the first game was on PC, it's supposed to be better than this one :/

It basically comes down to this.
Wanna play Darkness? Get an Xbox/PS3.

The first game, (Disney Epic Mickey) is only available on the Wii. When they came out with the second game, (Disney Epic Mickey 2 The Power of Two) it became available on multiple platforms, including PC.

Epic Mickey was going to be a PS3/360 game, developed in 2006, but they saw Wii and decided to stop the 360/PS3 version to exclusively make for Wii, so they can make Epic Mickey 1 for 360/PS3 and port to PC. At least I think. Disney shut off Junction Point but they may have the files for it.

Back when the game got released, it was fully playable on Dolphin in high resolution, and you can use the Wiimote, too.

That said, glad it's coming to Steam.

Eh, theres alot of stability issues. Even on a 14 core, rtx 3080ti build, theres audio crackling. Textures were never great to begin with. Widescreen hack is ok-ish, not stellar performance, and mapping the wii mote to a pad(if not using native wiimote) is a pain to do the right way.
Having a full on, legitimate, high quality remake is definitely the best way to go.
