From what I remember, KoF is hard to play as in combos and such require very tight timing and inputs are less forgiving.
It depends on what kinda game you like really. KoF, SG and SF are all very good in their own ways.
Skull Girls is fine if you are just playing against the computer or against some friends. But if you want to play random online, it is not beginner friendly at all. I been playing fighting games since MvC1 and I am barely average here.
Skullgirls is the king (queen?) of forgiving inputs. It's one of the things I love about it. The timing on chaining moves together is pretty lenient. There appears to be a larger input buffer for this. Unfortunately (for me), SG is extremely combo heavy. Like, the only game I can think of that is more combo heavy than SG at the moment is maybe Marvel vs. Capcom 3. If you're going to play SG, you need to prepare yourself for this. You will feel like you're watching a cutscene sometimes, and frankly I really dislike this.
If you've ever played Magic: The Gathering, you know the type of player who will load their deck with counterspells and refuse to let their opponent do anything? That's honestly what SG reminds me of at a high level. I have no doubt that there is a subset of players who enjoy just stuffing their opponent like this, and big combos are fun to watch, but it is absolutely no fun to play against because there is almost zero interaction between the players.
If you like big combos, you'll probably enjoy this game. If not, well you can still enjoy it at a lower level perhaps. It's impossible to learn anything when you get combo'd to death. I try to play against other low level players and I have a much better time.
I just saw a video of KoF and the combo's don't look so bad if you get caught up in it, but at the same time, I kind of would like to be able to do long combo's, it's a bitter-sweet ordeal :P.
What ways are each of them good?
I kind of want to stay away from SF if I could, it's been milked so much I don't even recognize it anymore.
I just downloaded the demo for SG on the x-box and yeah....the computers are very similar to MvC....easy mode = your-not-getting-past-level-one mode. Also, isn't every fighter a good game with freinds, so long as your not freinds with like a torunament champion?
Isn't every fighting game unforgiving online?
Could one make a lobby for new players like in UMvC3?
Skullgirls is the perfect game for people with the same level because you can do a lot of things, in KOFXIII your will need a lot of time to perform simple combos.
