Am I doing something wrong?

So, I know I'm not very good at fighting games. I don't play them very often. But I'm doing this tutorial mode and it's telling me to "poke and throw". I get the concept, but it's not doing it when I press the combination it tells me. I'm using a 360 gamepad and it's not working at all.

LP - LP - LP+LK

I punch twice but the grab never comes out. Is it just timing or is something wrong. I managed to get it to register like once out of 1000 trys.

It sounds like you're hitting throw too early. Maybe try holding forward and then throwing when you start walking.

You're pressing LP and LK at the exact same time for the throw, right? Try practicing throwing for a while without poking first, to get a feel for it.

You could also set one of your macros to be LP+LK to be able to practice the timing without having to get the input right, if that's the problem.
