Is a Free Weekend really a good idea?
Each character's story arc is literally 20 minutes. Someone can get the full Skullgirls experience in as little as 2 hours.

It looks to be a trick anyway, there is no way to install the game without buying it. Not that I can see anyway

I thought the full Skullgirls experience was getting destroyed in quickmatch

The free weekend hasn't started yet.

Fighting games have never been about the story, it's just a bonus. The real experience is getting bodied in quickmatch like UnluckyDuckie said.

Beside, people can already watch all the story arcs on the internet anyway.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the game. I mean, I'm terriblre at it and the one time I played multuplayer I got destroyed like the Death Star, but it's a good game.

But I've played plenty of games when they had Free Weekeneds and I've thought "I've gotten what this game is about." and never buy it.

It's not working anyway, the link just goes to the store page, I would like to try this out.

Restart Steam, then you'll see the game in your library.

Hmmmm, in the story sense, yes.

But it's a fighting game. You should be downloading and playing it with friends! ♥♥♥♥ being good at it! Have fun! Enjoy it with friends! You should be punching the heck out of each other with little girls! And loving it.

Fighting games are for the...fighting. They almost have never been about the story or single player mode. It's all about playing against random people and your friends.

For all of you potential newbies fixing to try match making.. don't quit after gettting owned. Try toughing it out the whole weekend playing. Hopefully you'll find people of similar skill level and have some fun matches with. Just keep in mind this game has some "elitists" so don't get to discouraged if you go up against someone that owns face in 2 seconds.

I do wish that more fighting games actually put some effort into their single-player storylines. I might actually bother to play through them if they did. But yeah, I agree; fighting games are definitely more about the multiplayer. Whether it is 1 on 1, 2 on 2, free for all or whatever.

Fighting games aren't exactly about story lines, they usually have them but they are the main attraction. It is and it isn't a good idea for a free week end. It's a good idea in the sense for people to try the game who aren't sure about it and it's a bad idea cause the hardcore players will get flooded wit matches with people who dont't really know how to play.
Softspokenman Nov 14, 2013 @ 12:32pm
very few of the original players are still playing it why would this new surge of players hang around just wait for it to go free to play or end up in a bundle

Oh boy. You're being silly as well.

Fighting games arent about story mode, it's fighting other people. Rarely go i do story mode.
BootyMan Nov 14, 2013 @ 12:59pm
Who in their right mind plays a fighter for the story?
