1st Form - j.HP or j.HK air dash cancelled into another j.HP or j.HK
2nd Form - used super meter on Cat Scratch Fever(QCF+PP) and a few j.HK or j.HP attacks thrown in
3rd Form - j.HP or j.HK air dash cancelled into another j.HP or j.HK
With air dash cancelling I could spam the jumping heavy attacks and keep in close range(so she wouldn't summon the exploding skeletons, which she does if you're too far from her), and Cat Scratch Fever locked her down during her second form which kept her from doing most of her attacks. It wasn't perfect, but I was able to beat Marie with most of my health by the end. The hard part is dodging her projectiles and summons, but on Normal difficulty she doesn't spam as much so it's easier to read the attacks and avoid or block most of them.
And if you're in Arcade mode you can just quit at the last fight (though beating her might unlock some art gallery stuff, depending on the character(s) played). Assuming you're using Arcade on higher AI settings for practice/fun/killing time anyway.
That said, a common tactic against her is to simply jump and spam heavy attacks, some multi-hit attacks can stun-lock her as well. And if you're playing Cerebella just cheese her on any difficulty with Diamond Reflector. :P
Or maybe it's just because I've already played a couple SNK games and are therefore familiar with insane bosses. Everything looks much easier after facing Demon Gaoh from Samurai Shodown VI.
Sometimes, I can still hear that game's Game Over melody...
Maybe i'm just not good anough at fighting games to see the lesson here but in my opinion the final boss should require you to use all the skill you have learned in the game to be able to beat them not just what is the best way to cheese them out (which is how i beat them)
And yes i know i havnt beat this game on steam yet (just bought it today) but i have beat it with every char on xbox before.
