How to block with a controller?

I'm using a controller and i'm a bit confused on how blocking works. I tried looking it up in the game and on the internet with little results. Thanks :)

See the direction youre facing? Push the other direction.

I've done that, and online it said that I needed to press back in combination with two punch buttons. That just made me slide backwards, though. I dunno.

Thats how you PUSH block ( pushing an opponent back while already blocking them). Gotta read the whole thing when researching, dude.
Back to block high/mid, down-back to block low.

yea i done it too its hard for your brain to train yourself to push the back button when your mind is saying push forward. especially since double forward is a short dash foward not just rush to the opponent its a definitely a bit a curve goin to RV from MV. youl get it. just remember to time yourself. press back to early youll just walk/dash backwards. timed right you just block
