[SOLVED] Beowulf is a pain in the ♥♥♥♥
Has someone even managed to beat Marie with him? I've been trying for around 20 minutes and no luck. Any valuable strategies? Take in consideration Beowulf relies heavily on Grapples and Heavy slow hits (Like real wrestlers actually), but this is useless against Marie since you can't grab her, where the best strategy is low constant damage (and this is the first character without any skill like that which just helps to raise the hit counter more than dealing damage).

We need a combo, no matter the damage, just something to keep the hit counter high enough to harass and poke the Skullgirl.

Yeah, sort of what I came out after a long while. Thank you.

cHK, superjump to her back, jHK and repeat
Went derp on that one; cHP, superjump to her back, jHP and repeat. Always with the chair on.

Just hammered her with heavy attacks and spammed Gigantic Arm on her 3rd form.

Also what Osoreshi said is a good tactic for any character. (Assuming they can superjump) Crossing up Marie confuses her summons.
I just used the chair. :ostrich:

I just jumped and hk intenfies

Personally, I found Marie to be easier with Beowulf than most other characters.
I think the super amor (is that the right term for it on Skullgirls?) that lets Beowulf absorb a few hits gives him a distinct advantage when fighting against Marie.

Main problem was finding a good harass combo to keep up against her, which was my initial complain. After I found it, it was easy as pie.

I just hit her until she died. Worked for me. Seemed like the "Beowulf" thing to do.

Came here to get help and find out i set difficulty to nightmare :v
Well... back to Sleepwalk and proplem solve
DRUNK_CANADIAN Apr 18, 2015 @ 1:56am
Hes honestly one of the worst for fighting her, his HK and down HK witth wolf blitzer to dodge and guarding is probably the best method...

I normally play nightmare with my good characters but she was painful with beo on normal lol
ChezBorgar Apr 18, 2015 @ 6:37am
i thought beowulf really fit my playstyle since i can beat the other characters far easier than the other story modes.
at least until i got to mary. i cant beat her on normal, she always leaves 1/8 hp before i die, tone it down to easy and its still the same wtfidonteven.

guess ill have to be a scrub and play on sleepwalk

edit: finally did it on sleepwalk. but wtf lol http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=427524363. a pixel of health left.
this guy is a bit weird to use againts mary but is a beast for the others

I just let Grendel take her out for me.
1st and 2nd form: armored chairless c.HK up close -> ground roll on her other side -> repeat
3rd form: spending all meter on gigantic arm supers until she's dead
El Peluca Apr 18, 2015 @ 8:16am
Lowering down the difficulty sounds like a solution. I beat her in Hard since is the minimum I play, and god what a pain. Marie needs constant damage to be slowed down, and Beowulf doesn't have that (is a wrestler, makes sense).

Lol, never thought of rolling to the other side, I was just hitting blindly.

Find out the same tactic too and everything went smootly. The roll allow you to dodge most of her attack and the damage is high so just throw away that chair and deliver the pain!
Muro Apr 18, 2015 @ 11:55am
Yeah, the roll is good both because it makes you pass damagelessly through some projectiles and because wheneher you switch sides, Marie is confused and takes a second to adjust to the situation. Constantly switching sides either by crossover jump attacks or in Beowulf's case chairless c.HK -> roll is quite an effective tactic.
