What is it with Cerebella and death?
I've just noticed a motif involving Cerebella during the story modes (spoiler warning, just warning those who haven't played yet (though I think everyone here's played the game)): many of her roles practically have a death involved.
In Peacock's story ending, Peacock storms Medici Tower. When she appears, she's holding Cerebella's hat, which implies that Peacock killed her.
Then there's Cerebella's ending, where she literally crushes Ms. Fortune to prevent her wish of eliminating the Mafia.
Her alternate ending also has death involved. She wishes for Vitale to love her and her only, so the Skull Heart makes Vitale kill her fellow circus members.
In Big Band's story, he fights Cerebella first; immediately after, he discovers Dr. Avian was killed.
Finally, in Eliza's story mode, she and Eliza first encounter Squigly, who so happens to be (un)dead. And later, Eliza impales her talons into Cerebella's heart.
Got any thoughts on this?

I didn't know she had an alternate ending. Mind you, I haven't played the story mode more than once for each character. How did you get the ending in which the rest of the circus performers die?

Also, I blame Alex Ahad for Cerebella's tendencies towards death. :P

Alternate endings with a decision on whether or not to wish on the Skullheart were initially planned but eventually scrapped. The dialogue lines for them are still in the game files though, and were made public once someone dug through said files and found them:

I think its payback for her willful ignorance to all the horrible things the Mafia does. In her own mind she's just looking out for her family but in reality she's using that to justify doing horrible things.

In terms of story Karma, she's due for some payback somewhere. Even in her "happy" ending she's still left wondering if she made the right choice.

Oh. I get it.

That makes a lot of sense, actually. I wonder if Lab Zero is gonna develop a story that makes her find out her "family's" true motives...
