Getting started as a beginner (read this)

If you're having trouble getting into Skullgirls, first do the in-game tutorial and then read this guide for more indepth explanations on mechanics:

This is not optional. If you want to learn the game then there is no shortcut. Learn how the game works, I can assure you 95% of the "this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥" moments isn't the game's fault but rather that you don't understand how the game works or how to beat it.

Use Skullheart.com for all Skullgirls discussion and resources, if you want a real answer, go there. If you need to know how to defeat a certain strategy, go there. There's a few Steam guides that are good but not that many that really go in depth on how to play the characters.

It takes time to get good, just because you lost 20 times in a row the day you got the game, doesn't mean you're not cut for fighting games, it just means you're a noob. But you know what? You can GET BETTER by playing the game and learning how it works.

Q: How do I find people to play with?
A: There are multiple Steam groups for different regions. For example: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/SaltCrossPuns or http://steamcommunity.com/groups/SGAUTZ for Australia. Find people and ask them to play with you. Don't be a spaghetti lord, go find people to play with and socialize.

Q: I keep getting put into infinite combos
A: No you're not, they're just doing resets on you or you're getting baited into getting hit over and over again

Q: x is broken
A: It probably isn't. A good mentality is "This is hard to beat, I need to figure out a way to beat it or I should do it too and abuse it until someone beats it". A bad mentality is "This is OP, I'm going to go write an angry post on the steam forums now."
