I think they sort of are. Having the controller shaking in your hands when you're trying to nail exicution and neutral and outplay your opponent is one more thing in the way.
I'm pretty sure every pro player for Super Smash Bros for example turns off vibration.
I don't think it would "benefit" from it so much as /you/ "like it."
On the other hand, GameTech is putting out an arcade stick with a vibrating wrist strap this month, so somebody agrees with your sentiment enough to spend time and money implementing it into an actual product.
