So why doesn't an uncensor mod exist?
Can someone explain that to me?

CANCELLED Mike Z programmed his engine in a way that prevents general tampering with the sprites. Essentially to prevent nude mods. You can mod anything else but can't touch the fighter sprites short of jacking in data during runtime like with that one palette editor.

I’m not a programmer, but basically Skullgirls run in its own engine with its own code created by Mike Z and Alex Ahad. Problem is, they are the only ones who can properly work with the engine they have created(because of the code language) and, unfortunately, they can no longer work in Skullgirls. Because of that, the new devs have trouble working with the game and we as players can’t even modify the game.

Wait, so we can modify the game but not its sprites?

Yes, with Skullmod. Just google it.

FYI, Alex Ahad was an artist. He had nothing to do with the coding or anything engine related.

This isn't true.

Ah, I didn’t know that, thank you! So, Mike Z was the programmer and Alex Ahad was the leader artist of SG, right? I thought Mike was the one responsible for the art direction because “he used to draw things since high school”. So I looked it up and, it seems it was Ahad who drew things and not Mike, I mistakenly switched their roles, my apologies!:cozyspaceengineersa:

Long story short, the game checks if the files have been tampered with and doesn't work if certain files are deemed as changed.

It's been a while, but I believe the files responsible for that are called integrity files.

Give it a decade or two, due to the low interest of bypassing this protection at least the specific one used here, and eventually some technology will allow you to alter any file you want.
