Child porn is bad. So they removed it. How is that so hard for you people to grasp?

What is this that they added? https://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1557980/ss_f6daf38017e04e12ad4dc11961bc4e5575763845.1920x1080.jpg

Since so many defending child porn art in this discussion board keep asking for CP and posting it, i'm going to leave that link unclicked and just report you in case it is.

There could be several reasons, among them being that they are stupid, trying to just censor the populist, desperate for new people to buy the game, etc.

It is a hot link from the store page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1557980/Skullgirls_Annie/

Please everyone, don't be narcissistic supply. I want to know the answer to my question because I can't figure it out. Why do they censor combs but put in crotch shots of an immortal 12 year old into their game? Please help me understand!

On the right hand side of the store page is a report button. They can report the product to Steam if they think that is what it is.

If I had to give an honest guess, it's because Annie actually looks too young and cute for the company to view her in a sexual light, whereas other characters seem sexually attractive from those same people. So with Annie they think "haha cute you can see her undies" but with the older characters they personally saw it more sexually, thinking "omg this game let's you see her panties. How perverted."

It is way worse than that. They highlight those underaged Filia panties, basically saying "look over here we want you to see her undies". They even removed the option to make those blend into the color palette.
It is worrying how much they promote child exploitation.
Also, they did those changes for EVO. They want EVO to become exactly what they pretend to fight against.

Just to say, Annie is 15, not 12. but I get your point. I think there's still a chance to see those 15-year-old pantyshots for people who enjoy watching CP like AggressiveHibernation:
Thanks for the correction. Annie doesn't look 15 to me. I thought she was around 10 when I first saw her. I got 12 from here:
"In early lore before the game, Annie was supposed to be an immortal 12 year old. She is said to be cursed because of both of her parents’ wish, not just her mother, to never grow up and become a sinful adult and now she’s just a sinful kid."
https://skullgirls.fandom.com/wiki/Annie

Chrono_Tata, moderator at skullheart.com said, "like I said, regardless of my own scepticism on the effectiveness of the content change, it's quite simple to see why from the devs' perspective, they want to remove the contents from the currently distributed version of the game completely. As for official footages or images that contain pre-censorship designs, they would likely get to them soon enough. They have been doing censorship passes for years before this update - the Egret armbands were censored since the original release of SGM in 2017 - and more recently there have been minor censorship passes in almost every major updates since the Annie pre-release; this patch is simply just the biggest one. It most likely will not be the last."
https://skullheart.com/threads/the-lets-over-analyse-social-media-updates-thread.11600/page-12

They've been doing this for a long time and during that time they were implementing a crotch shot of Annie. I just don't get it. Why is that okay and everything else like Filia's comb not okay? They alter the color FIlia's panty flash but they create one for Annie. I don't understand their logic, hence the topic.

I think that is a very good guess.

The explanation to inconsistent censorship is usually because it is not an active thing by publishers, but a reactive thing by feedback sent in by feminists.

This is why historically 0 male characters have been censored. Nobody alive sends in complaints that men are sexualized.

Meanwhile feminists often send in complaints that women are sexualized. But most feminists do not actively play games, which is why they usually just mention a single thing, instead of a list of everything wrong with the game that they found through hours of playing. So only those few things they submit get changed and censored.

This is why many oppose censorship heavily. Because they know a publisher will never stop because feminists will constantly find a little thing here and there forever, with just chipping away at the art until it is all censored. And not a single extra customer will be gotten from the changes.

Let's put this in the eyes of the far left and the right. Both parties wants censorship. Yet, this path is on the right side of censorship. Cause I've seen this happen before in the 80s, where the right wants to ban porn, anime, etc. So I can see ppl quickly jump to "trump supporter" argument. Yet, the left does the same thing in terms of censorship just in different ways. Overall, this trend will hurt gaming as a whole if no one doesn't seen the warning signs. I DO know though, if this gets accepted in the eyes of gaming corporations, you WILL see outcry of those who are defending it when THEIR game gets affected. It's just a matter of time....

Yes, that makes sense. They are upset that normal people find the other girls attractive in the game. They wouldn't be offended by Beowulf's muscularity. It is a one-sided war against male sexuality. Maybe the feminists haven't seen Annie's underwear yet and the artists are attracted to lolicons.

Some of the changes are straight up neurotic like the removal of the hair pick from Filia's hair. I'm wondering if it isn't the result of the devs themselves and their own internal issues?
