Retconning Filia's age would've been the smarter and less time consuming option. The recent censors didn't even follow through on their intended purpose; she still gets bound and gagged in Eliza's story mode, and is still very clearly sexualized in most facets of her design (which you can argue is a core principle of Skullgirls' art direction).

It's not about 'protecting the childrens from evil doodles'. They're an ideological cult that only likes sexuality when it's on their terms(so basically only when it involves LGBT). Her age was never relevant, it's just a convenient talking point to instantly shut down criticism of censorship by calling people p3dos. Of a drawing. A drawing of someone only 2 years shy of legal age in the US, and whom would be in legal age on 98% of the planet outside of the US.

These people are just cultural vandals like the sort that have completely destroyed western film industry over the last few years. They exist only to dismantle, change, and destroy things. Never create.

Making a sequel that took place several years later would have prevented this altogether, since they could then abandon this game and leave it to rest once and for all. Instead they performed necromancy to desecrate it's legacy instead. The whole situation was handled poorly, and intentionally so, simple as that.

It's mostly because they won't go into the reason why they made the changes. As in what is the conversation that took place for this outcome to happen and why was it a conversation to have from the beginning.

If there was transparency on that part then it might have possibly been better received. People would still be unhappy, but valid reason would have been given instead of defaulting to "someone might be offended". They could've even said they want to reboot the series and change stuff, and that would've likely been better received than what was provided.

Half of parasol's moveset still explicitly has her spreading her legs for direct pantyshots. Valentine has nearly half of her tits out. this game is full of sexualization I know I personally don't have a problem with and see very few complaints about. But fillia always skeeved me out a bit. Pretty crap take, not gonna lie.

Imo the best solution is to just have sexualized characters be adults in the beginning. The second best would be retconning her to college later. Reworking the rest of the sprites and trying to pretend it didn't happen would be a good few spots behind those.

I literally helped a few people downpatch their game, and me personally do not care for the changes game still plays the same to me, doesnt effect me i will stick to current patch, but when someone is like "i literally cant look at the merch i bought from them anymore after this incident bro" acting like its 9/11 or some ♥♥♥♥ thats a certified KEKW moment. I love when gamers mald or act like this dude its content because they dont touch grass.

I think people who are genuinely just sitting back and watching the fireworks don't feel the need to go to multiple topics and make sure everyone is informed that they're doing so, but hey. Maybe I'm wrong.
