It plays very differently, but SG knowledge and skill will help a lot.
Been playing it for a few weeks now and having a blast.
It's also a good way to support SG since it supports the devs.
I got into Skullgirls from Skullgirls mobile. I'd say that the game is a very fundamentally different experience because it's a PvE focused game rather than a PvP focused game (though the PvP is pretty fun and fairly-ish balanced). I play both of them, but don't think that Skullgirls mobile will make you any less salty than the desktop version.
It's much better than any other mobile games or any gacha games because a lot of the gameplay is skill-based. I've killed teams which are anywhere from 6-15x stronger than mine using naturally bronze units (the most common). I haven't spent a single cent, and I've found it incredibly easy to gather tons of units. (It also NEVER shoves ads in your face).
Overall, I'd recommend.
For example, any standard fighting game you have to learn how to perform special, learn to chain those special into your normal attack, thus creating combos.
But in mobile skull girl, special is just one click, entire normal attack combo is just tap, swipe up and down etc... Rather than complex mechanical and motor skill, it focuses heavily on skill knowledge and punish opponent. Thus making pvp becomes heavy reliance on block, counter attack, anti-grab rather than active. But skullgirl mobile barely has active PvP, you just fight with AI with player's premade team
But so long as its whales money help fund the main game getting stuff too then I could care less.
